What can microfinance contribute to Agriculture in Developing Countries? 

Agriculture has returned to being a primary global concern. Prices of goods such as rice, maize and soya (food security) are sky rocketing.  Access to finance is quiet difficult to the rural farmer as they are excluded from the banking system.  In rural and urban poor areas we have the potential to help our clients because we have an advantage in terms of proximity to the clients.

INPUT FINANCE 

Our clients are assured of an affordable flexible scheme to finance their inputs at the beginning of a crop season. The client has to provide a pro-forma invoice from a recognized agent and the money is paid directly to agent. 

 

WAREHOUSE RECEIPT FINANCE 

It is a working capital facility for the purchase of non-perishable commodities such as: 

Maize, rice, cashew nuts and others. Goods are stored in approved warehouses. The storage is used as collateral for a loan which is assigned to the bank through warehouse receipt.   This will enable the farmer prepare for the next crop season whiles commodities are being sold.
